Four by Four (4x4)

While my star is bright and shining strong
before its fuel eventually depletes
I sit here, in my little space
in the corner of my front yard
not much more than 4x4
I talk to my friends wishing all well
and receive greetings from them
thank God (or goddamn)
for the advent of the cell
here in my little place
in the corner of my front yard
not much more than 4x4
I drink my lemonade, freshly squeezed
from what seems like an eternal tree
always lemons never
ever displeased
here from my little base
in the corner of my front yard
not much more than 4x4
I watch the cars pass by on my street
fast slow some even hanging from a tow
I do not miss a beat
here before my eyes behind my face
in the corner of my front yard
not much more than 4x4
This little plot of land I find so dear
sitting on a makeshift chair crate
caressing a
flower with a dew drop tear
here in my little grace
in the corner of my front yard
not much more than 4x4
seeing all the sun sets and occasional rises
expressions run short when describing the scene
this abundance of gifts
and precious prizes
here in my little heaven’s trace
in the corner of my front yard
not much more than 4x4
When my star dulls and flickers no more
I make a humble and solemn request
to befit I hope all that is blessed
fold me up as needed in this corner of my
yard
not much more than 4x4
not much more than 4x4
